Alerts

Get notified when metrics cross custom thresholds

Alerts allow you to monitor your analytics metrics and get notified when they cross defined thresholds.

How Alerts Work

An alert monitors a specific metric (e.g., bounce rate, pageviews, sessions) and triggers a notification when the metric crosses a threshold you define.

Creating an Alert

  1. Go to Site Settings → Alerts
  2. Click Create Alert
  3. Configure the alert parameters:
    • Metric — Select which metric to monitor (pageviews, sessions, bounce rate, etc.)
    • Condition — Greater than, less than, equal to
    • Threshold — The value that triggers the alert
    • Frequency — How often to check (every 5 minutes, hourly, daily)
  4. Set delivery methods:
    • Email notification — Get an email when the alert triggers
    • Webhook delivery — Receive alert payload via webhook
  5. Save the alert

Alert Types

  • Threshold alerts — Trigger when a metric crosses a value (e.g., bounce rate > 70%)
  • Anomaly detection — Trigger when a metric deviates from its normal pattern

Delivery Methods

Email Notifications

Alerts can send email notifications to your account email. The email includes:

  • Alert name and metric
  • Current value vs. threshold
  • Direct link to the dashboard for investigation

Webhook Delivery

When combined with outgoing webhooks, alerts can trigger webhook deliveries with the full alert payload, enabling integration with external systems like Slack, PagerDuty, or custom monitoring tools.

Managing Alerts

  • View alerts — See all configured alerts with their current status
  • Edit alerts — Modify threshold, condition, or delivery settings
  • Enable/disable — Toggle alerts on and off without deleting them
  • Delete — Remove alerts you no longer need

Alerts work with both public and private sites. For private sites, dashboard links in alert emails include the private link key for seamless access.
